Linked to Teaching, Assessment and Outcomes, SEND, Pupil Premium, More able, Sport Funding / PE and Chair of Curriculum Committee. He is also the Link Governor to Reception.
He is a parent Governor and Chair of Governors. Mark has been with the school for one and a half years and is fully committed to his roles and enjoys immensely the challenges they bring. His background is in Education where he has been a teacher for 16 years , having held many roles including Head of Faculty, Head of Department, Head of Year and various secondments onto SLT.
Mr Richard Elliott
Vice Chair of Governors
Richard works for local government and strongly believes in the sense of community at St Mary's and providing a safe learning environment for the children to flourish. He is passionate about giving children the best start in education and supporting the staff to provide this.
Richard is Chair of Finance and Premises Committee and linked to Attendance and Head Teacher Performance.
Parish Priest and Foundation Governor
Fr Barry is a foundation governor and the parish priest of Holy Trinity Dorchester. He thinks the school is a vital part of the parish and the local community. He has many years of being a governor of different schools including most recently 12 years at St Joseph’s RC School in Poole. As a governor he is particularly interested in the welfare of all who make up the school community.
He is a member of the admissions committee and the finance and premises committee. He is also linked to Head Teachers performance and Attendance as well as Health and Safety.
Mrs Liz Littlechild
Linked to Safeguarding and Looked after Children , RE/ Catholic Life , Art And DT, Curriculum Committee and Head Teacher Performance.
I am married with two daughters who both attend St Mary’s. We relocated to Dorchester a little over three years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I have sixteen years teaching experience as a secondary school teacher specialising in Religious Education, with thirteen of those in Catholic Education. As a practising Catholic I attend Holy Trinity Church with my family, which led me to become a Foundation Governor at St Mary’s three years ago. In this role I represent the interests of the Church, with a focus on the teaching of RE and religious worship. In addition I am also the RE Link Governor and form part of the Curriculum Committee and the Full Governing Body. Gospel values are part of every aspect of school life here at St Mary's and I am delighted to be part of this school community.
Mr James See
Linked to the Curriculum Committee,and Humanities Philosophy 4 Children, Single Steps and MFL.
James has experience of working in education for the last twelve years, at a range of secondary and upper schools. His roles have included being a Head of Department, leading whole school training and he is currently working as an Associate Senior Team Leader. He has passion for teaching and learning and believes that every pupil should enjoy their learning and continually challenge themselves. .
Mr Graham Rhys-Jones
Foundation governor, member of Finance and Premises Committee and linked to Health and Safety.
Committed Catholic with deep roots in this part of Dorset.
Degrees in Theology and International Relations.
Experienced administrator and manager with record of service to community.
Background in consultancy, research and writing.
Published author with special interest in twentieth-century naval history.
Mrs Rebecca Bradley
Linked to Curriculum Committee and English, and to English and Science.
I have been part of St Mary's School Family for quite a few years and currently have three children at St Marys and one now at St Osmund's. I work as an Orthodontist at Dorset County Hospital and in Specialist Practice in Weymouth. I am Catholic and am actively involved in Parish life. I enjoy working as part of a team and am committed to giving my very best to help the school in any way I can.
Mrs Catherine Macer-Wright
Linked to Finance and Premises Committee, ICT and to Eco Schools and School Council.
Catherine is a foundation governor and also a parent at school. Catherine is a civil engineer working for government flood risk management in Dorset. She enjoys using her skills to give practical benefits to the school community, as well as to support the catholic ethos of inclusivity and respect for all.
Mrs Kirsty Hill
Member of the Finance & Premises Committee and linked to HR.
I have a background in HR dealing with all aspects from conditions of service, to pay and contracts. I am committed to promoting the school and its values and helping to encourage the pupils to be the best they can be.
