November 2022
This week we have started our Christmas preparations by planning our Christmas letters to Santa. There are lots of things being requested!
The class is bubbling with excitement and have really enjoyed spending time in the Winter Workshop preparing gifts and selling them to each other.
In maths we have been trying out addition and subtraction word problems and have embraced the challenge.
As it stopped raining yesterday we all went outside to take part in a science investigation and classified different leaves into groups so that we could enter the data into a pictogram and talk about the results.
We have also started practising our song for the Christmas Play - Funky Camels!
This week we have started our new topic for English which is recounts. We read a recount about going on a beach walk and then went on our own nature walk around school.
We found lots of things, leaves of different colours, mini beasts and we even made homes for various creatures out of natural objects. When we got back to the classroom we drank yummy hot chocolate. Now we are beginning to write about our experience using lots of describing words to make our information interesting.
In DT we have also started making a nativity scene using a slider mechanism and In History we have built a timeline of our school’s history.
We even have a new class plant to look after.
In PE we are busy working with the PE coach and practising all the multitude of skills needed to be a sportsperson.
