Week 27th Feb-3rd March 2023

This week we were looking forward to the start of meteorological Spring and have been discussing what happens in Spring in Science by sorting Spring and Winter pictures, we have been on a Spring walk to see if we can spot any buds. We noticed that the bulbs we planted in September were growing fast and are looking forward to them flowering in the coming weeks.

This week we started a new topic in Maths - subtracting ones from numbers up to 20. We did lots of practical activities and have now got the hang of it!

We also took part in World Book Day and travelled around the world learning about different foods, art, songs and drama.

Week 20th-24th February 2023

We started this half term with great positivity - everyone skipping into school with smiley faces and stories of adventurous half terms.

We have been practising our phonics and have really enjoyed playing the Pirate Game on Phonics Play while practising decoding real and non-words.

We are starting our new topics and are really excited to have a Victorian School as our Role Play area which ties in with our Victorian topic. We went outside in the first session to play with some old Victorian Toys. We really loved the marbles and yoyo! 

We also had a visit from the POLICE and some police dogs. Everyone really loved the experience and saw how amazing the police dogs are at finding things.

Week 6th-9th February 2023

Wow! What a busy term it has been. This week we have been writing our version of Grandads Island, some children decided the adventure would take place in space and some underwater. Everyone has worked really hard to craft their story and write them neatly onto some special paper.

As a class treat for filling the marble jar this half term Mrs MacGregor baked a chocolate cake which we enjoyed at breaktime before having a wiggle and singing a song.

We have also finished our water colour topic in art and have created some beautiful art work which we will display in the art exhibition after half term.
