Blog November 2021

Week 29th November-3rd December 2021

The festivities have started in earnest! Daily Advent liturgies have begun, carol singing has happened, each class has had an Elf delivery and every child has received a beautiful angel keyring.

We look forward to preparing for Christmas with your children over the next fortnight.

Please can you send your child into school on Tuesday and Thursday with shin pads if they have any for use in PE.
Week 22nd-26th November 2021

The children enjoyed their virtual visit with Dr Bradley on Thursday afternoon; learning about the different functions of teeth. They asked some very intelligent questions and showed a good understanding.

Some of our children were selected to play basketball on Wednesday at St. Osmund’s middle school. They had a great time and came second. There will be opportunities at other points of the year for the rest of the children to take part in sport activities too.

Thank you to those parents who are ensuring that their children read as often as possible. It is one of the greatest gifts you can give to them.

The children who joined the library as a response to our visit are thrilled.

Week 8th-12th November 2021

The children have produced some very effective written work this week; crafting poetry with carefully selected vocabulary.

In maths, they have been working hard on solving subtraction problems and sharing methods.

In PE the children loved playing basketball and trying not to get caught in the pirate game!

We had a remembrance assembly on Thursday where we all stopped for one minute and spent time thinking of those who had and who are still suffering. The children showed great respect and maturity during the silence.

Week 1st-5th November 2021

What an exciting way to end our India topic; with Indian food and mehndi pattern tattoos. Thank you so much to those of you who were able to contribute food- the children loved it.
