Blog June 2022

Week 20th-24th June 2022

Year 4 have had another super week of learning. On Saturday many gathered to take part in the DASP singing project at Maumbury Rings. They read and sang beautifully and were a credit to the school.

We have already seen great progress with many of our swimmers and have benefited from specialist swimming input thanks to Andrea Dabbs.

The ukulele lessons are going strong with the children showing improved understanding of composition and performance.

Mrs Sawtell, the headteacher of St Osmund’s Middle School, gave an assembly to the year 4’s on Monday. She spoke about the school’s values and how much she is looking forward to getting to know the children.

We have started to practise sports day events and hope to see many of you on Thursday afternoon.

Week 13th-17th June 2022

The year 4’s enjoyed orienteering at St Osmund’s Middle School. They used skills learned at Springhead, displaying good map reading skills.

It also gave them a great opportunity to become familiar with their next learning environment.

Week 6th-10th June 2022

A great week with lots of learning. In English we are focusing on play scripts which is leading to research on the Plague and its impact on towns and villages in England.

In maths the children are problem solving with money.

Our History topic is embracing all of our skills and knowledge over time and allows opportunity for debate and analysis of sources used.

PE has become even more exciting with the start of swimming lessons. The pool is warm and very welcoming!

I thought I would share with you photos of The Jubilee and hope that you all enjoyed your bank holiday.
