March 2023

Week 27th-31st March 2023

We packed a lot into this last week of term!

We measured our daffodils and tulips again and couldn't believe how much they had grown! We added the measurements to our science growth chart.

In music we used glockenspiels to play along with a reggae style piece we had learned to sing and then added our own compositions to complement the melody.

In  maths we did a recap on telling the time to the hour and half past and learned to tell the time to quarter to and past the hour.

We finished our DT project on 'smoothies' and really enjoyed the tasting session!

Week 20th-24th March 2023

This week we were visited by the Life Education Van. We learned about keeping healthy in body and mind. We were incredibly knowledgeable about looking after our bodies and how our body works.

We absolutely loved seeing Harold again!

Week 13th-17th March 2023

We had another very exciting week this week. On Wednesday we performed our dance routine based on the theme of 'The Jungle' to our families.

We also displayed our fantastic artwork in St Mary's art gallery. In Year 2 we used carbon paper to make monoprints of animals we had chosen to sketch.

We took the images from nature film footage creating still images to use.

On Friday the whole school made smoothies with Jon from Sustrans. He brought in a special smoothie bike, which has a  blender attached, this was powered by pedaling the bike!

16th March 2023 - Trip to Wagamama

Year 2 went to Wagamama on 16th March.  The children had an amazing time making their own katsu curry and juice. They loved the food and it was a wonderful experience to learn about preparing and cooking fresh ingredients. They all cannot wait to go back again!

Week 6th-10th March 2023

This week we had World Book Day. We dressed up in the most amazing costumes and chose a word to go with our outfit which we translated into other languages.

We made a passport to enable us to travel around the school to take part in lots of fun activities about other countries around the world. We had the most fantastic day!

We measured our daffodils and tulips to see how much they had grown in Forest School and planted some seeds in the memorial garden. We will observed them growing in the summer term.
