Blog November 2018

Week 5th-9th November 2018

This week Year 3 have enjoyed a trip around Dorchester to further consolidate our topic learning on the Romans.

We went to look at the Roman Town House behind County Hall and we were very impressed with the mosaics so will now being using these to help us create our own mosaic during Art.

We then walked to Maumbury Rings to look at the shape of an amphitheater and how it would have been used.
Week 12th-16th November 2018

Year 3 learnt a song called 'Count on Me' which they sand in assembly to start our anti bullying week.

This week they have been working hard on strategies to be a good friend and identifying behaviour which makes an unkind friend. They are currently in the process of creating a story board for scenarios about what to do if someone is unkind to you.
Week 19th-23rd November 2018

Last week Year 3 started their new Literacy topic of Newspapers.

We had a very exciting start to the week where some Archaeologists had been to our school and found some Roman artefacts. We took our note books to note down what we could see from the dig site.

We are very excited to write our own newspaper reports to tell everyone about the fantastic discovery.
Week 26th-30th November 2018

This week Year 3 have been busy planning and writing their newspaper reports about the Archaeological dig. They have worked really hard on them and have produced some fantastically detailed newspaper reports. Well done Year 3!
