Blog January 2022

Week 31st January-4th February 2022

This week we have been continuing the story of Syd and Grandad with three more plot points to finish the story. The children have amazing ideas!

We continued our science experiments trying to find out what our super sense is. Here we are testing our sight.

Week 24th-28th January 2022

We have been conducting experiments in science and ordering instructions in ICT this week.

The children contributed to a lovely class Liturgy on our RE unit - Special People and shared their beautiful prayers with the class.

Week 17th-21st January 2022

This week we've been doing some drama to bring the story of 'Grandad's Island' to life, showing Syd and Grandad arriving and exploring the island. We watched the colourful opening sequence to 'Rio' and became a flock of exotic birds swooping in the sky to help us build vocabulary for our writing.

Week 10th-14th January 2022

We have started reading 'Grandad's Island' by Benji Davis in English and we have been sentence stacking, exploring Grandad's attic and making the journey on a boat to Grandad's magical island.

In ICT we are learning about the importance of following instructions and we will learn about algorithms in computing. We tried to build a lego model by instructing our partner without looking!

We have been learning about the human body and how we use our 5 senses in science. We explored the grounds using our senses. Using our sight to spot and describe what we saw and touch to describe how it felt.
